Great portraits begin with great gear selection, location and of course, a great subject. 

The RF 24-70mm f/2.8L is provides an outstanding imaging tool, with 2 to 4 stops of true image stabilization. The background/subject separation at max aperture as shown in this photo is second only to the RF 28-70 f/2L when it comes to wide/normal zoom range lenses. This lens is a joy to carry all day as well!!

This lens is a marked improvement over the EF predecessors. Those were and still are fabulous lenses. In my opinion, the new RF version it simply renders color and sharpness just enough better so that you can tell in a side by side comparison.

But, when you add in the Image Stabilization, the improvement becomes far more dramatic. You can do more with less light AND get a sharper image in even more demanding conditions.

This lens gives a pleasing bokeh. it is not as dramatic as the 28-70 or 200mm f/2's or the faster 105, 85 and 50mm extreme aperture lenses in our inventory. But it does provide a very pleasing background effect provided, as always, that the photographer controls the distances.

I do not list this lens as a BOKEH MONSTER because that is misleading. But considering the IS and the weight, this lens provides just as sharp of an image as any in our inventory, and will serve the demanding photographer very well all around.
